Home Staging: Procrastination, prejudice, and other ridiculous ideas. It is tax time. Just the words conjure up dread, frustration, chaotic piles of receipts, an adding machine…wait, that’s my dad muttering “how much” under his breath with the pinched and agonized look of that 70s guy …
What I am trying to get at is that everything has baggage. Every person and every job, big or small, comes with expectations and connotations, prejudices that may or may not be realistic. What I have found with both people and chores is that I don’t really know until I go. My preconceived notions are pretty useless. When I open my mind and take that first step, I often find it feels good to get the job done; or it is better than anticipated; or I’ve made a new friend; or at least I’ve seen the other side and am glad not to live there. That being said, Lets GO…with all those things that need to be done! Today I cleaned some of my windows in the shade, inside and out. I was outside on a lovely spring day, and from the inside I can see the bluest of skies. I am glad that I started this dreaded project…
