Fitness

Annie the Dancer – Annie began her lifelong devotion to moving her body at the age of 7,  in a beginners dance class at Minnesota Dance Theatre. Dancing soon became her passion and eventually career, as both a performing member of MDT’s company and an instructor at the school. When her dance career ended, Annie’s focus shifted to fitness outside of the dance studio, first with the aerobics craze of the late 1980’s, next running around the lake with her son in a stroller, and eventually group fitness strength, cardio and dance formats. Certified by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) as a group fitness instructor and a Functional Training Specialist, Annie is excited to bring her passion to her teaching. In particular, the barre format allows a perfect marriage of her dance training, her teaching background, and her group fitness certifications.

BARRE – Inspired by ballet and you…the barre-less Barre class. Typically one hour, but sometimes a 45 minute express class, this format focuses on discovering your own personal strength and grace, being inspired and inspiring just by moving your body and by being YOU (“Be-YOU-tiful”)!  Muscle endurance, cardio endurance, balance, posture, core strength and flexibility are the focus of this strenuous and joyous class suitable for all ages and abilities. Your connection to your body and its current needs make this class a perfect fit for every person, every BODY. Move and Be Moved. Grin and Barre it with Annie.
