I have a sectional couch in my basement that I find to be very limiting. (Luckily, the couch is on its last legs…soon to be thrown to the curb.) Let me warn anyone out there…do not buy a sectional!!! In most cases, they only “fit” one way, leaving little room for re-arrangement of furniture. Also, the weight of a sectional typically overpowers a space that isn’t enormous. In my own house, my basement couch has hindered any creative re-designing. When we finally get rid of the bothersome couch, I will replace it with two to three smaller pieces: perhaps a couch, chair and ottoman. These will allow so much more versatility. I will not be stuck with one tired floor plan and could easily split the pieces for use in other rooms if needed. If you have a brand new sectional…my condolences.
