The Victory Neighborhood is named for the historic three-mile Victory Memorial Parkway which runs through the community. ‘The Drive’ was dedicated in 1921 as a memorial to the Hennepin County service members who died in World War I. Each casualty is recognized with a tree planted in their honor and a marker noting their service. Additional monuments can be found along the parkway which was designated as a historic district by the Minnesota State Legislature in 2005. The parkway is the largest outdoor World War I memorial in the US. Visit the Victory Neighborhood Association website for more info.
